Slow Cooker Pulled chicken

Hands down slow cookers are one of the most useful little numbers in the kitchen. They help tenderize less-expensive cuts of meat and due to the slow and extended cooking time, it tends to develop the flavor in food a lot more...


The best part, you can pop your meal in and walk away for a few hours.... without giving it a second thought.... freeing you up to do many more things than to worry about dinner. #winwin


This is one of my favourite all time recipes and traditionally used with pork shoulder I thought we'd do a chicken version.... and this is what you need


Slow cooked pulled chicken.

1-1.5kg chicken breast

1 cup bbq sauce (your favourite)

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup water

1 medium onion grated (with juice)

3 crushed garlics

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 Tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp paprika

1/2 tsp celery salt (optional)

Add all ingredients into slow cooker and cook for 5hrs or high setting or 8hrs on low setting.

Once your time is up. Chicken should easily shred with a fork.


In the cooking process if you see your liquid reducing too much, top up with equal part bbq sauce and water.
