Spiced Carmel Apples

My kids go nuts for these apples. #itsatreat


Usually poured over the top of hot pancakes or it made in bulk, filled between puff pastry and made into "apple pies"

This mixture was enough for 2 servings (but I will warn you... it's so darn good you'll want to be making double)

1/2 apple

1 tsp butter

1/2 tbs cinnamon

1 tbs brown sugar

Pinch of salt (to balance it all out)

Place butter in a hot pan, add your apples, sugar, salt and cinnamon... allow to bubble. Once bubbling, reduce heat, allow to cook for a remaining 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand.

.

For a more liquid consistency you can add water or apple juice but usually the brown sugar will melt into a beautiful liquid for the perfect consistency.

.

Tip: don't walk away. Watch apples to ensure the sugar doesn't burn.
