Spiced Date Scones

And only 5 ingredients needed!


1 3/4 cups SR flour

1 tspn all spice

1/2 cup thickened cream

1/2 cup lemonade

4-5 dates, softened in boiling water for 5 mins, pits removed and chopped.


Preheat oven to 180-200°c.


Mix all ingredients to form a dough, knead gently on floured surface.


You can use a scone cutter or a knife. I have roughly chopped mine into 4, to create giant scones. But this recipe could easily make 6-8 normal sized scones.

Brush with thickened cream


Bake for 25 mins or until golden and your scones make a hollow sounding noise when tapped on the bottom.

Serve warm with butter, jam or whipped cream.

Perfect Sunday brunch or high tea addition.
