It's soup season.... so let me introduce the humble pea and ham. #oldschoolstyle

1 small carrot diced
2 medium sized potatoes peeled and cubed
1 onion diced
1.5 - 2 cups green split peas (or a mix of both)
500ml veggie stock
1Ltr Water
Pepper
Salt to season at the end.

Literally fry off your veggies till softened.
Add you split peas and stir. Add your pepper.
Add your liquid and your smoked ham
Pop on a lid and let simmer for 2hrs or until the peas are soft.

Season with salt to taste (baring in mind stock and smoked ham are already full of salt and flavour.

This hearty soup will warm you from your head to your toes. #welcomewinter
